Why was The Peder Hedberg Foundation established?

Peder Hedberg was a very active, vital, “live life to the fullest” kind of guy. He was struck with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis and Cholangiocarcinoma at age 22 and fought these diseases for a year until his death in March of 2010, at age 23. Peder loved children and spent his summers working at either South Suburban Special Recreation Association day camps or Pilgrim Pines Conference Center. It was evident that Peder loved kids and they also loved him, as did their parents. Before Peder’s death he had decided to get a teaching certificate so he could teach elementary education professionally. Peder’s family and friends have established The Peder Hedberg Foundation to carry on his dreams and to honor his memory.

What is The Peder Hedberg Foundation’s Mission?
