Paul Hedberg, President

Paul Hedberg

Paul is Peder’s father. He is an Ordained Minister who has served churches in Virginia, Illinois and Minnesota. He has served on many boards and committees related to his ministerial career.  Paul has recently served on the board of Covenant Children Ministries, an organization that supports ministries for at risk children. He was employed by Vitas Innovative Hospice as a Clinical System Trainer. Paul attended and worked at Pilgrim Pines for many years during his youth. The relationships he established there were formative to him and he was delighted that Peder had the opportunity to be involved in the ministry there. As a resident of the area that serves SSSRA, besides knowing about it through Peder’s involvement, he has heard a great deal about the excellent work that this organization does to serve disabled children and children with special needs.

Eric Hedberg, Vice President

Eric HedbergEric is Peder’s brother. He grew up in Minnesota and the suburbs of Chicago and completed his undergraduate studies at North Park University in Chicago in 2005. He holds an M.Div and MBA from North Park Theological Seminary and North Park University. He and his wife Erikka live in Surrey, British Columbia, where he is the Pastor of Community Life at Emmanuel Covenant Church.

Hope Hedberg, Secretary / Treasurer

Hope Hedberg

Hope is Peder’s Mother. 30 years ago she received her Masters degree in Theology/Marriage & Family Therapy and has worked as a private practitioner since then. At present she works as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Homewood, Illinois. She loves public speaking and has presented many workshops and retreats, and served on Church Leadership Boards, as well as the Finance Committee. For two years, she worked part-time at the Cancer Support Center in Homewood, counseling cancer patients and their family members.

Erikka Hedberg, Marketing Director

Erikka Hedberg

Erikka is Peder’s sister-in-law. She grew up in the central valley of California and graduated from North Park University in 2007 with a degree in Art-Graphic Design. She is a freelance graphic designer and lives with her husband Eric in British Columbia, Canada.  

Lars Anderson, Treasurer

Lars Anderson

Lars was Peder’s friend and roommate. They first met at Pilgrim Pines where they both worked and then attended college together. Lars graduated from North Park University in 2010 with a BS in Business and Economics and is now working at Performance Trust Investment Advisors in Chicago.  

Brian Nussbaum

Brian NussbaumBrian and Peder have been best friends since they were 10 years old and worked together at the South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) as camp counselors for four summers. He has been a resident of Homewood, Illinois his entire life. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2008 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics. After Illinois Wesleyan, he went to work for Wells Fargo Financial, as a Credit Manager. He left Wells Fargo Financial after a year to become the Assistant Director at the Homewood Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently he is a law student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Holly Wishart

Holly is Peder’s aunt. She has worked for Aetna Insurance Company for 27 years, currently in the role of Senior Project Manager within Aetna Specialty Pharmacy. She is committed to serving: she has served her church, First United Methodist Church of Meriden, Connecticut in a variety of leadership roles ( Scholarship Chairperson, Chancel Choir Music Coordinator, United Methodist Women’s President, Administrative Board member to Women’s Retreat Coordinator) as well as many other organizations. Over the past five years she has expanded her desire to serve with week-long mission trips to the Dominican Republic specifically working with the food distribution program.

John Snow

John SnowJohn was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from North Park College 1975. He worked for Auburn Corporation since 1976 (and counting) in Commercial Window sales. John was part owner of Auburn Corporation and served as Vice President and Secretary. He has been a member of Trinity Covenant Church since 1980 and has served on various boards of the church. He is a husband and father of three children, two of which also attended North Park University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at North Park.

Jonathan Proulx

Jonathan ProulxJonathan was Peder’s roommate at Seton Hall University during their sophomore and junior years. Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. He now lives and works in New Hampshire.

Todd Hedberg

Todd HedbergTodd is Peder’s cousin. He is happily married to his wife Lisa and lives in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He is a developer and real estate “investor” and has served on the Dodge County Humane Society as past president, past vice president, and a board member for five years. He is also a member of the Dodge County Realtors Association and Wisconsin Realtors Association.

Taryn Johnson

Taryn JohnsonTaryn was Peder’s girlfriend. Taryn grew up going to Pilgrim Pines with her family and served as a staff member there for three summers. At Pilgrim Pines her faith in God was strengthened as she formed many close relationships and also worked with and fell in love with Peder. The mission of SSSRA supports Taryn’s desire to help children as she currently works at a preschool in Chicago with children with disabilities and developmental disorders.

Amber Moody

Amber MoodyAmber met Peder during the summer of 2006 at Pilgrim Pines. She is a home-school mother of three kids and wife to the Director of Facilities at Grace Chapel in Massachusetts. After graduating from Syracuse University in 1995 with a degree in Nutrition Science, Amber was a dietitian in a hospital for two years and then transitioned to Corporate HR and worked for seven years in the Career Development and Training Department as a Training Specialist and Project Manager. She is an active member of her church, where she volunteers in Children’s Ministry, Life Community Leadership, and Family Ministry
